Slack adds iPhone widgets to help you catch up on missed messages

Slack Logo

Slack is expanding its presence on the iPhone home screen with the introduction of new widgets. These widgets are designed to provide users with quick access to important information and streamline the Slack experience.

Three widgets are available for the home screen, offering varying levels of detail. The Catch Up widget displays unread message and mention counts, allowing users to quickly assess their workload. The Status widget enables users to easily set their status, with pre-defined options like "Focus" and "Lunch." A larger version of the Status widget offers additional customization.

While these widgets enhance the Slack experience on the iPhone, they also integrate the platform more deeply into users' daily routines. This increased accessibility might blur the lines between work and personal life for some.
