Google Shopping Adds Personalized Feed and AI Tips

Google Shopping Logo

Google Shopping is launching a new personalized feed, available on both mobile and desktop, designed to display products based on your recent searches and YouTube viewing history. This tailored experience will appear on shopping.google.com, presenting items that align with your interests.

At the top of the page, users will find a carousel of recently browsed items, making it easy to revisit past searches. Scrolling down reveals recommended products and related videos, curated through recent search activity and YouTube interactions. If you encounter items you’d rather not see, a “thumbs-down” option allows you to filter out similar suggestions, creating a feed that more closely matches your tastes.

Google is also rolling out a deals tab that highlights promotions personalized to your shopping history. However, these features only apply if you’re logged in, ensuring the recommendations reflect your current interests.

In addition to the personalized feed, Google has enhanced the Shopping tab with an AI-generated summary that provides buying tips. For instance, a search for “tea kettle for matcha” might display a few top picks with details like “precise temperature control” or “fast boiling and keep warm.” Below these recommendations, Google groups additional product options into helpful categories, making it easier to browse by specific features, like “Variable temperature kettles for matcha.”

For those accustomed to the classic Google Shopping layout, the traditional catalog is still available at the bottom of the page.

This refreshed Google Shopping experience is gradually becoming available for US users on both mobile and desktop platforms, starting Oct 15.
