These kinds of clients come along when we have an existing relationship with the founder, or we are coming in with a strong recommendation from the VC that backed them. If a client is betting on us as their development team, we’ve established trust.

Why do I love these the most? I’ve seen how hard it is to assemble a new team. A new team means finding the right people, and having them work well together. Relationships between the team need time to gel and that takes time. I don’t care how much money your VC gave you, there is no way to fast track that. I’ve seen great people pulled together, and although their contributions are all strong, they do not work well as a team. Product doesn’t hand off requirements to development in a way that’s clear to them. Development hands off testing to QA that does not meet their requirements. There ends up being lots of back and forth. The results are often underwhelming.

If you are considering using companies like ours to develop your software product, check references. We are happy to do it and we feel it’s what makes us different. Lots of software outsourcing companies simply provide warm bodies, and you aren’t getting any team dynamic.
